    DFOG-Image Processing Application for Real-Time Defogging

    The enhancement of real-time video taken under bad visibility or bad weather is a vital necessity in consumer transport industry and computer vision applications. During the past decade, many researchers have been devoted to the problem of how to remove fog noise from real-time video. Nowadays vehicle industry uses various computing systems to assist in the transport of travelers from one location to another .now most of the cars have revers camera front cameras and sensors who give the signal when the vehicle is near to another object. These detections and identification are useful for the safe operation of vehicles. When looking through vehicle accident history, many accidents caused bad weather conditions. Fog, haze, rain, and other natural weather conditions cannot remove physically. Fog and haze block vison above 1 kilometer. There is a defogger in the windscreen, but it is only removed Mist on the windscreen. For the driver's vision above the rode, there is no such thing for that. The purpose of this research paper is introducing a new system to remove fog from real-time video and give detailed visual to the driver in foggy or other bad weather condition. This D-Fog system includes functions such as give clear realtime visual in bad weather condition, recognize, and give details about the object above the road, give the distance between objects and vehicle. In this system, main function is producing real-time defogged, clear video. Combination of Ha and Hoon method and Dark channel priority method used to get this real-time defog video. To recognize the object, this system has use thermal sensors and heat maps. To get the distance between object and vehicle this system has use LIDAR sensors. Because of this facility, we can name this system as three in one system.

    Mixed Reality Supermarket: A Modern Approach into Day - to - Day Grocery Shopping

    In the modern world where there are massive trends in development and implementation of new technologies, combination of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is one which has key potential in an everyday developing world. The main concept behind Virtual Reality is simply immersing the user in a virtual environment at the comfort of their own place. This is done by creating a computer-generated 3D environment with hand gestured navigation system combined with concepts of voice recognition, image processing and machine learning that explores intense human interactions. As we are in the 21st century, where technological transformations are most certainly creating blurry lines between fiction and reality, more and more people have the need to fulfill their daily requirements easily without wasting their valuable time. Buying day to day needs from a supermarket is one of the main activities that each one of us struggle to go through during the day. Targeting the above simple daily activities, we are making an effort to apply VR Technology to this area through this research and thus trying to provide a rather new technological experience for purchasing items from a supermarket. This can be beneficial to the consumers to minimize their valuable time wasted, and also, they will be able to get the real experience of shopping while getting exposure to marketing.

    Prop Cone: The Virtual Prop House

    In films, props are the moving objects that may be seen. Prop masters and art directors’ assistants are responsible for gathering movie-related props. The selection of props is also essential, because the appeal of a film is dependent on its captivating qualities. It is difficult to select without a solid recommendation and a large gallery. Therefore, the suggested platform is a virtual prop house that works as a prop-specific recommendation system and has additional capabilities such as putting previews and history records. The process necessitates a cross-device platform, as the recommendation system functions as a web page, and when it comes to the improved capabilities of positioning previews, it is transitioning to a mobile application with AR Core support. In this study, the recommendations for the props can be made in one of three efficient ways. They are by reading the script and recommending the props using word recognition, recommending props from the available gallery by scanning an image, which can be a screenshot of a movie, and as associated props which makes the prop master’s job easier by suggesting props by grouping and ranking the most prevalently utilized props in the movies that have been screened so far.

    Relationship between procurement systems and payment methods in assuring financial safety in Sri Lankan building projects

    The Construction industry is a place where the parties to a project frequently face various risks throughout the project life cycle. Financial risks are one of the aforementioned risks that have a significant impact on parties, and more studies should be conducted to investigate the possibility of minimizing these financial risks and assuring the financial safety of projects. Thus, this research aims at identifying the relationship between procurement systems and payment methods towards assuring the financial safety of construction projects. Researchers selected government funded building projects to limit the scope because such projects frequently deal with financial risks. Frequent financial risks in a Government Funded Building Projects (GFBP) were identified as material shortages, fluctuation of inflation rate, legislation changes. The study used a mixed method approach, and data was gathered through semi structured interviews and questionnaires. Data was analyzed using manual content analysis and basic statistics. Common procurement systems and payment methods available in a GFBP were identified through interviews. Accordingly traditional, design and build, management oriented and collaborative procurement systems were identified and lumpsum, measure and pay, Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and cost reimbursement were identified as payment methods. Furthermore, findings revealed that there are six common combinations between procurement systems and payment methods in GFBP. The identified combinations were further tested for their ability to minimize financial risks of GFBP and it was revealed that the combination consisting of Lumpsum with Design and Build was the best combination to assure financial safety in GFBP. Other combinations are traditional with measure and pay, design and build with lumpsum, design and build with GMP, management oriented with lumpsum, management oriented with measure and pay. Ultimately, a framework has been developed by harmonizing all the research findings in which parties can select the most viable combination to assure the financial safety of their project.
