(2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC), SLIIT, 2020-12-10) Sankalpa, R.; Sankalpani, T.; Sandeepani, T.; Ransika, N.; Kodagoda, N.; Suriyawansa, K.
MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are a new revolution in the field of e-learning. MOOCs are capable of providing several thousands of learners with access to courses over the internet. MOOCs are produced in many different video production styles and these styles play an important role in helping the consumer stay engaged and interested in the courses. MOOCs provide a large number of courses in different domains to a wide range of learners. It has become difficult and a timeconsuming task for a user to find the most suitable courses that suit a learner’s personal preferences. This paper describes how to recommend a course based on the preferred video style of the learner and the basic learning style of the learner which determines the learner’s preferences on other materials in a course. In the course recommendation process, this paper also describes how to classify the course in order to recommend the most appropriate massive open online courses for users according to their most preferred video production style.

EduHelp – An Online Tutoring Application
(2021 3rd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC), SLIIT, 2021-12-09) Fernandopulle, S.R.; Warnasooriya, W.M.C.D.B.; Jayasinghe, J.M.H.N.; Theeraj, S.M.D.; Samarakoon, U.; Kumari, S.
E-learning via electronic mail, the Internet, the Worldwide Web (WWW), and multimedia has emerged as a result of the convergence of digital technologies and growing interest in the computerized delivery of higher education. The rapid emergence of Covid-19, a lethal disease caused by the Corona Virus, shocked the entire world. It was labeled a pandemic by the World Health Organization. This has posed a challenge to the global education system, forcing instructors to switch to an online form of instruction overnight. Many academic institutions that had previously been hesitant to adapt their traditional pedagogical method now have no choice but to fully embrace online teaching-learning. Because the platform is new to students and teachers, it appears that they are having some difficulties conducting their classes. Hence in this paper, we proposed an E-learning Application called EduHelp to design and build a tutoring platform that includes payment validation for each student, lesson summaries with a video summary note, and more. Upload relevant files and papers by automatically identifying and directing them, as well as creating automated questions and monitoring student attention.

E-GEO: Geography based E-learning system for sri lanka
    (Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, 2017-01-26) Rajapaksha, P. H. A. S.; Wijenayake, G. K. S. V.; Diroshan, R.; Eranga Harshani, M. W.; Mallawaarachchi, Y.; Ishara, W. G. A.
Geography is an enthralling subject and an additional qualification for day to day life of human beings. Because human beings are socialized and they are usually dealing with geographical related activities. As a person he needs to have a basic sense of where he lives and what is the surrounding environment of his living area. Therefore, to provide the basic geographical knowledge for these persons who are in any age category, standalone e-learning application is introduced as final year research. The E-GEO e-learning application which can be worked in totally offline environment consists of four main components in Map Marking and Validation, Cross Section Drawing Platform with Mountain Type Identifier, Virtual Tours and Speech Recognition and Generation with Geo Master. To accomplish with these features we have used different technologies and mechanisms respectively Geographical Information System (GIS) based Map Marking and Offline Validation, Image Processing, 3D Modeling and Natural Language Processing. The entire application based on e-learning concept called gamification to provide motivational environment for users and could work without internet connectivity. This e-learning application would be achieved high accuracy level at the end of the project duration.
