(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2025) Jayasinghe R.D.D.L.K; Sasanka M.W.K.L; Athukorala D.A.S.M; Sandeepani M.A.D; Jayakody, A; Senarathna, A
As digital evidence increasingly growing in significance in healthcare forensics, safeguarding sensitive medical data's confidentiality, integrity, and limited access remains to be an important issue. Existing forensic evidence management systems are subject to data breaches and illegal access since they frequently lack significant privacy-preserving measures. In order to overcome such challenges, this research suggests a Blockchain-Based Custody Evidence Management System for Healthcare Forensics, which combines blockchain technology, machine learning, and encryption methods to improve security, privacy, and accessibility. To ensure accurate and efficient gathering of information, machine learning algorithms are used to extract handwritten and printed text from medical photographs. AES encryption ensures safe storage, while Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) is used for dynamic access level control to protect gathered evidence. Identity verification is made possible via a web-based authentication system that uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) to protect privacy by preventing the disclosure of personal data. By preventing unintended modifications, blockchain technology is used to preserve the custody chain's integrity. Furthermore, machine learning-driven PII detection and masking methods balance the requirement for forensic investigation with privacy compliance by controlling data accessibility according to access entitlements. Based on permitted access levels, the system makes it possible to share safe evidence with law enforcement agencies, such as courts, the police, and other forensic groups. Using blockchain to guarantee data immutability, cryptographic security to restrict access, and artificial intelligence (AI) to safeguard data, this approach enhances the privacy, security, and dependability of handling forensic evidence in medical investigations

    (2021-01) Wattegama, D; Silva, P. S; Elapatha, K; Yapa Abeywardena, K; Kuruwitaarachchi, N; Jayathilake, C. R
“iSAY”' is a Blockchain-based polling system created for legislative assistance. Sri Lanka is a democratic country. Country follows a representative democracy and voters in Sri Lanka vote for their preferred government based on their election mandate. However, governments implement legislative decisions that are not stated in the election mandate. People won’t get a chance to state their opinion on this legislative matter and the government also doesn’t know whether people like this or not.  To solve this issue, in this paper the authors propose a blockchain-based intelligent polling application for legislative assistance.  “iSay” is an application where blockchain technology gets together with machine learning to add value into the public opinion. The government can create a poll about a legislative decision and people can state their opinion which could be further discussed in the legislature. Adding a significant change to the blockchain based e-voting solutions this paper proposes a novel feature where users can add their idea to a relevant poll. Using machine learning algorithms all these user ideas will be classified and analyzed before presenting to the government. Through this research, it is expected to deploy scalable elections among the general public and get their vote and ideas about specific legislations to generate an overview of general public opinion about legislative decisions.

With the advancement of online payments in various products and services, the likelihood of credit card fraud has risen compared to the decades-long history of credit cards. When blockchain systems' immutability meets smart contracts, third-party removal and decentralization could be met as a high level of security. Proposed blockchain with fraud detection technology will assist to mitigate fraudulent credit card transactions due to its intermediate parties. Authors propose a solution (B-Box.com) where credit card transactions are modeled on a blockchain so that the credit card processing can be decentralized and verifiable with an accredited set of computing nodes. This solution reduces fraud due to ambiguous contracts with the use of a smart contract between the bank and the customer. Also, this project includes a scaling mechanism to blockchain because the current projects have a lack of scalability. Moreover, the solution introduces a proactive anomaly detection to detect fraudulent credit card transactions, in which the system will resist frauds before the fraudulent transaction enters the blockchain. So the proposed solution will make transparency between the banks and the end-users and at the same time prevents frauds before it happens which helps the banks to save millions in otherwise lost due to fraud.

The boundaries between personal and business communications is a key issue faced by most organizations. Use of unsecured and unsafe applications in workplaces pose enormous security risks. Companies are not adequately aware about the applications that are being used in their employees' devices. When it comes to critical business communication involving exchanging trade secrets, making business referrals and strategic business decisions, protecting of messages and shared files becomes a challenge. Most publicly available communication platforms do not empower organizations to regulate, track and scale their communication and does not provide compliance with data protection frameworks, which can result in cross industry system risks. As a result, both individuals and organizations express deep concern about data security and protection of privacy when using Instant Messaging applications. Non-repudiation in communications not only conveys to the user, recognition of the communication process, but it is also a crucial way to establish a relationship of trust and to overcome trust disputes. Our primary objective, through this research, is to develop a chat application with more secure channels of enterprise level communication. Using new technologies such as blockchain, which operate on a decentralized model, we can surmount the drawbacks of traditional messaging applications, thereby ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of official data, along with advanced auditing features.

(2021 3rd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC), SLIIT, 2021-12-09) Parameswaran, G.; Perera, M.J.F.R.; Aluthgedara, C.R.B.; Amanda, E.D.N.; Ishara, W.G.A.; Ganegoda, D.
Accommodation is one of the basic needs for travelers, tourists, students, and employees. Accommodations range from low-budget lodges to world-class luxury hotels, but finding the preferable accommodation is undoubtedly a tedious task. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become problematic state to visit each accommodation property to check whether it's suitable for the accommodation seeker, considering the location, environment, and to check if the property matches the user’s preferences. There have been incidents reported where thousands of people have been victimized because of contract breaches in the accommodation and real estate sectors, recurring from contract alterations. Considering these problems, we have proposed a system to provide solutions using Natural Language Processing (NLP), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Augmented Reality (AR), Block-chain, and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). This system provides an efficient approach to viewing the exterior and interior of an accommodation using 360-degree views, providing recommendations to the user based on user preferences using KNN and cosine similarity, providing security in a digital agreement using blockchain technology, and a map navigation system using ASR. With the aid of the previously mentioned techniques, a mobile application prototype is created with the possibility of future testing and implementation.
