PregAssist: Pregnancy Support Mobile Application for Pregnant Mothers and Doctors
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2026-05-22) Buddika, B. P; Jayasinghe N.; Perera A.N.M; Wijethunga D.N; Weerasinghe, M; Dunuwila, O
Pregnant care involves constant follow-ups, timely risk detection, and successful interactions between mothers and medics. This paper introduces PregAssist, a mobile integrated support system that is a synthesis of four products, including fetal health decision support, physical health risk prediction, AI-based mental health monitoring, and AR-driven emergency training. The fetal health module provides explainable and offline-capable cardiotocography (CTG) classification to assist clinical decision-making. XGBoost classifier with SHAP-based interpretability is used to analyze physical risks to generate individual recommendations and alerts. Mental health assessment integrates questionnaire-based indicators with CNN-driven facial emotion recognition, while federated learning preserves data privacy through on-device training. AR-based deterministic expert system offers protocol-adherent emergency simulations to improve preparedness activity when facing high-level of risk. Through the convergence of predictive analytics, explainable AI, privacy preserving learning, and training design, PregAssist assists in proactive maternal attention in urban and resource constrained environments via combining a hybrid mobile architecture.

A Game Centric E-Learning Application For Preschoolers
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2025) Kulasekara D.A.M.N.; Nipun P.G.I.; Dombawela H.M.D.L.B.A; Manilka G.S; Manilka G.S; De Silva D.I.
This research explores the potential of advanced technologies such as pose detection (PD), augmented reality (AR), object detection (OD), and voice recognition (VR) in creating a game-centric e-learning application for preschoolers. The proposed application, Kidstac, integrates cognitive and physical development through interactive activities with real world interaction, addressing gaps in traditional e-learning methods that often neglect physical engagement. The app features real-time feedback mechanisms and structured modules like virtual zoo explorations, exercise games, treasure hunts, and pronunciation activities. Testing results indicate significant improvements in motor skills, knowledge retention, problem-solving abilities, and language proficiency. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of blending physical and digital learning experiences to enhance early childhood education. The study establishes a foundation for scalable, activity-based learning tools, emphasizing the holistic development of young learners.

SMARKET-Shopping in Supercenters (Hypermarkets) with Augmented Reality
    (IEEE, 2021-12-17) Jayagoda, N. M; Jayawardana, O. R; Welivita, W. W. T. P; Weerasinghe, L; Dassanayake, T
Not so long ago, online shopping for groceries, electronics, and furniture items seemed futuristic. But today, it has become a norm to order requisites through online platforms using smart devices and deliver them to customers' doorstep. With the emerge of technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, augmented reality, retail becomes progressively effortless. One such emerging futuristic technology involved recently in online shopping is Augmented Reality (AR) which is rapidly adopted by many industries. In multi-story supercenters, also known as “Hypermarkets”, the customer often feels lost due to difficulty in finding exactly what they looking for, and also in conventional online shopping, often customers are in two minds whether to purchase an item or not since it lacks the proper visualization, touch, and feel of the product. In this research study, we propose a mobile-based solution with augmented reality, which assists the customer when shopping in-store as well as when shopping online to mitigate the difficulties and hesitancies faced while shopping. The results are commendable with 96.21 % accuracy in suggesting visually similar items and 89.59% accuracy in detecting emotional implications of product reviews.

An Enhanced Virtual Fitting Room using Deep Neural Networks
(2020 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC), SLIIT, 2020-12-10) Ileperuma, I.C.S.; Gunathilake, H.M.Y.V.; Dilshan, K.P.A.P.; Nishali, S.A.D.S.; Gamage, A.I.; Priyadarshana, Y.H.P.P.
As the customer's experience in present fit-on rooms is considered as an essential part of the textile industry, these fit-on rooms play a huge role in the textile shops. It is quite an arduous method and generates problems like long queues, having to change clothes individually, privacy problems and wasting time. The proposed convolutional neural network-based Virtual Fit-on Room helps to prevent the above mentioned problems. This product contains a TV screen, two web cameras, and a PC. It captures the customer's body by using two web cameras and displays the customer's dressed body. The combination of CNN in Deep learning and AR processes the body detection and generates the customer's dressed object. The application uses the stereo vision concept to get body measurements. The system detects customer age, gender, face type, and skin tones which are used to recommend cloth styles to customers. Another requirement of this system is customizing styles according to the customer requirements and suggests different styles of clothes. The system achieved 99% accuracy when suggesting different styles using FFNN. Customers can choose clothes for another person who does not physically appear with the customer in the textile shop. The expected output delivers the most realistic dressed object to the customer which allows the efficient customizations for the textile products according to customer requirements. This product can highly influence the textile and fashion industry. Therefore, this product is suitable to compete with other applications in the industry.

Accommodation Finder: An Augmented Reality Based Mobile Application Integrated with Smart Contracts
(2021 3rd International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC), SLIIT, 2021-12-09) Parameswaran, G.; Perera, M.J.F.R.; Aluthgedara, C.R.B.; Amanda, E.D.N.; Ishara, W.G.A.; Ganegoda, D.
Accommodation is one of the basic needs for travelers, tourists, students, and employees. Accommodations range from low-budget lodges to world-class luxury hotels, but finding the preferable accommodation is undoubtedly a tedious task. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become problematic state to visit each accommodation property to check whether it's suitable for the accommodation seeker, considering the location, environment, and to check if the property matches the user’s preferences. There have been incidents reported where thousands of people have been victimized because of contract breaches in the accommodation and real estate sectors, recurring from contract alterations. Considering these problems, we have proposed a system to provide solutions using Natural Language Processing (NLP), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Augmented Reality (AR), Block-chain, and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). This system provides an efficient approach to viewing the exterior and interior of an accommodation using 360-degree views, providing recommendations to the user based on user preferences using KNN and cosine similarity, providing security in a digital agreement using blockchain technology, and a map navigation system using ASR. With the aid of the previously mentioned techniques, a mobile application prototype is created with the possibility of future testing and implementation.
