Item Embargo A Comprehensive Approach to Secure, Accessible, and Engaging Voting Systems(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2026) Jayasinghe J.A.M.P; Bandara S.Y.T.D; Shabry S.M; Wickramasinghe W.A.R.M.; Rajapakse, K; Silva, NThis research presents a secure and accessible e-voting system for polling booths in Sri Lankan context, to overcome issues with the traditional voting system. It incorporates block-chain for fair vote storage, and homomorphic encryption for privacy preserving computation of results. The identity of voters is confirmed by face recognition, which includes measures to deterring any voting by impostors. Special identification model with multiple digits is beneficial for disabled voters. Public opinion is effectively gauged through sentiment analysis from social media and it puts concerns to rest, thus a whole lot of enhancement in the whole of customer engagement. Ease of use is also assured thanks to a very user-friendly interface which eliminates mistakes a lot with only a little effort generally. Experimental results demonstrate that security is greatly strengthened, transparency and usability are significantly increased traditional procedural integrity is still maintained efficiently.Publication Open Access FreshSight: An Accessibility-Focused Approach to Produce Freshness and Shelf- Life Detection for Food Safety and Waste Reduction(Faculty of Engineering, 2025-09-09) Fernando,W.P. R.; Kirupananda, A.Colour-blind individuals encounter daily challenges, particularly in distinguishing colour-based indicators of food spoilage. This limitation significantly impacts their ability to assess the freshness and safety of fruits and vegetables accurately. Concurrently, global concerns regarding food spoilage have intensified, with millions worldwide affected by foodborne illnesses each year. The modern lifestyle, characterized by its rapid pace and time constraints, exacerbates this issue, often leading to unnoticed spoilage and substantial waste. The resulting annual waste, estimated at one-third of all edible food, imposes significant societal and environmental burdens, underscoring the urgency for effective solutions. FreshSight enables users, including those with colour vision deficiencies, to assess the condition of fruits and vegetables through a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)- based real-time image analysis engine and an intuitive interface. This system provides immediate visual feedback to help users make informed decisions and avoid the consumption of spoiled produce. It also offers inclusive design features that support individuals with visual impairments. Beyond individual benefits, FreshSight promotes responsible food handling and contributes to the broader goal of sustainable food systems. By combining advanced technology with user-centered design, the solution enhances both safety and accessibility in everyday food-related decisions. In addressing the critical challenges of food safety, inclusivity, and waste reduction, FreshSight aims to support healthier lifestyles and contribute positively to environmental and societal well-being in the modern world.Item Embargo WORDEX: Early Dyslexia Detection and Support(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2025) Ganegoda, S.H; Dissanayake, O; Samarakoon, S; Jayawardana, N; Thelijjagoda, S; Gunathilake, PDyslexia is a prevalent and complex learning disability that affects approximately 5% of primary school students worldwide. It often manifests as persistent difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, and overall academic performance, which can lead to long-term educational and psychological impacts if not addressed early. To facilitate the early identification and support of dyslexic learners aged 7 to 10, this paper introduces Wordex, an innovative and adaptive educational platform. Wordex is designed to screen for multiple dyslexia subtypes and provide targeted interventions through engaging, interactive, and personalized learning activities. The platform features an integrated machine learning-based screening system that analyzes user interactions and performance metrics to assess the risk of dyslexia. Upon identification, the platform delivers tailored remedial exercises that align with national school curricula, aiming to strengthen specific cognitive and linguistic skills. Wordex is developed using a modern technology stack including Spring Boot, Flutter, Python libraries, Firebase, and MongoDB, and incorporates capabilities such as image processing, supervised learning algorithms, real-time progress tracking, and cloud-based data management. A user-centered design approach and iterative testing cycles were employed to ensure the platform is accessible, intuitive, and pedagogically effective. Wordex contributes significantly to the field of educational technology by offering a scalable, research-informed intervention tool. Future enhancements include multilingual support, broader age group coverage, and integration with classroom learning environments.Publication Open Access Identifying the Factors Influencing Customer Satisfaction; A Case Study on ABC Bank PLC, Sri Lanka(SLIIT Business School, 2023-12-14) Gunasekara, T. B.; Rajapaksha Yapa, S; Kothalawala, CThis study aims to determine the specific factors that influence Customer Satisfaction in the banking sector of Sri Lanka because the economic growth and stability of a country depend on the soundness of its banking sector. The sole participants in this research are clients of ABC Bank in the Colombo district. The technique is based on primary data gathered using a wellstructured questionnaire. A hundred individuals were chosen at random from the database of ABC Bank. The respondents of the study are existing ABC Bank customers living in the Colombo district aged between 18-40 years. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were used in the examination of the data that was gathered. According to the findings, customer happiness may be affected by Service Quality, accessibility, product pricing, and e-banking. The management of the bank should determine the elements that might reduce Customer Satisfaction and work to improve them while simultaneously enhancing the variables that can boost customers.
