Study on the Behavioral Intention to use Cryptocurrency Market among Non-State University Students in Sri Lanka
    (SLIIT,Business School, 2022-06) Maduranga H.A.C.P; Bandara H.M.C; Nipuna Ravishka E.A; Ranjitha H.D.K; Dissanayake, L.D.A. D.
The rise of cryptocurrency in the modern digital economy is relatively new and evolving rapidly. Due to the intricate structure and insufficient knowledge about cryptocurrencies, it's use is limited to industrialized countries. The study consists of four independent variables: awareness, trust, ease of use, and risk. The dependent variable is cryptocurrency behavioral intention. A survey of 380 undergraduates is undertaken to get information on respondents' perceptions of cryptocurrency's attributes and their intention to invest in it in the future. Pearson Correlation analysis is being utilized to study the relationship between awareness, trust, ease of use, risk, and behavioral intention of cryptocurrencies as the major purpose. The dependent variable and Cryptocurrency Factors have a positive relationship, with a 0.01 level of significance for correlation. We adopted snowball sampling technique as the survey's sample design based on survey's results. Furthermore, the data is analyzed for reliability and validity using AMOS statistical software. Two of the four hypotheses were not supported while the other two were significantly supported. The study's findings enhance to undergraduates' potential investment opportunities in cryptocurrency and validate the level of accuracy of cryptocurrency knowledge among undergraduates in developing countries. By studying human behavior, researchers can better predict the prospects for future cryptocurrency adoption and success.

Whole Life Costing Awareness and Implementation Challenges in the Sri Lankan Construction Industry
(SLIIT, Faculty of Engineering, 2024-03) Jayasinghe, D.I.C; Abeynayake, D.N
Construction industry is highly demanding, especially with regard to the project cost as a significant aspect. However, more informed cost advice can be produced considering the project’s life cycle that begins with the conception and ends with its disposal instead of using a conventional initial capital cost basis. Thus, Whole Life Costing (WLC) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) concepts are essential. Though many LCC research studies exist, WLC studies are minimal in the Sri Lankan construction industry context. Therefore, this study aims to explore WLC awareness and implementation challenges in the Sri Lankan construction industry. A literature review was conducted to search for the concepts. Empirical data were gathered using questionnaires by implementing a quantitative survey strategy. Findings depict that the awareness of WLC in the Sri Lankan construction industry is poor, preventing its benefits. Moreover, this research identified difficulty in identifying includes and excludes for calculating WLC, lack of details at early stages, lack of awareness of WLC benefits, lack of understanding of WLC tools, lack of reliable data and lack of expertise/knowledge on WLC as the primary challenges in implementing WLC in the Sri Lankan construction industry. Therefore, these challenges must be mitigated for the beneficial WLC implementation in the Sri Lankan construction industry while enhancing awareness and knowledge of the WLC concept among professionals, especially quantity surveyors, to facilitate responsible initiation of WLC practices in the Sri Lankan construction industry.

Awareness of Sri Lankan internet users on web browsing related threats and vulnerabilities
    (IEEE, 2016-12-16) Ilangakoon, S. D; Jayakody, A
This research work presents new trends in cyber threats, and it also quantifies user awareness of web threats and attacks. Using an online questionnaire information for the analysis of whether individuals had adequate knowledge of internet threats and attacks in order to safeguard themselves was obtained. The survey showed that many users lack an adequate understanding of what to do and what not to do in order to remain safe on the internet. Therefore, it is crucial that training and awareness be given to all individuals, especially at a young age.
